Blackwall Tunnel

Blackwall Tunnel

Sub-contracted to remove all tunnel cladding and ceiling steelwork from within the blackwall tunnel South-bound bore on behalf of Fitzpatrick Contractors Ltd. The works were carried out during two phases, phase one consisting of the removal of all tunnel cladding whilst maintaining one lane of live traffic. Phase two consisted of the removal of the ceiling steelwork during partial tunnel closures. All works were completed within the times stipulated.
Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace - for the Royal Household

Marks (Demolition) Contractors Ltd carried out the demolition works within Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Royal household. The works involved the demolition of the Queens Galleries and kitchens ready for the construction of the New Gallery, which was due to be opened during the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
Tower of London

Tower of London - for the Royal Household

Marks (Demolition) Contractors Ltd were contracted by HBG Construction Ltd for the demolition works at the Armouries Building within the Tower of London. All operatives underwent critical security investigation prior to any employee being permitted to start work. All works were carried out to the satisfaction of HBG Construction and the Royal Household.

Channel Tunnel Rail Link

Hochtief Murphy JV appointed us demolition contractor for the demolition works on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (contract 320 - Thames Tunnel). The works involved the demolition of two industrial estates (one in Northfleet, Kent, the other in Thurrock Essex) and the demolition of a chalk quarry.

This picture shows our thirty-tonne excavator being lifted down into the tunnel shaft ready to break out the headwall for the Tunnel Boring Machine. The contract value was in the region of £1.7M

University of Greenwich

University of Greenwich

We are proud to have carried out the demolition works on five of the grade 1 listed buildings within the Greenwich University site. All works were carried out under strict conditions due to the importance of the existing Buildings. Total contract value £475,000.
Theatre Royal Gibraltar

Theatre Royal Gibraltar

Haymills Gibraltar Ltd contracted the demolition works to the Theatre Royal, Gibraltar to Marks (Demolition) Contractors Ltd. The works involved the demolition of all internal walls, roofs and the external some of the external walls. We retained the main façade to the front of the building and incorporated it into the new works. Contract value £225,000.
The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital

Royal London Homeopathic Hospital

Contracted by Haymills Contractors Ltd to carry out the internal strip-out and demolition works at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital. The contract value was £450,000 and all works were carried out to the satisfaction of our client within a period of twenty weeks. All demolition materials were removed from the site using conveyors passing through the main building onto lorries in Great Ormond Street.
Hatchford Park Mansion

Hatchford Park Mansion

Buxton Builders Ltd sub-contracted the internal demolition works at Hatchford Park Mansion. This involved the removal of all internal load bearing walls to a Grade 1 listed Building. All works were carried out by operatives using hand held tools due to the importance of the building. Contract value £55,000
Selhurst Depot

Selhurst Depot

Marks (Demolition) Contractors Ltd were contracted by Fitzpatrick Contractors Ltd to dismantle an existing lighting tower at Selhurst Train Depot. All works were carried out during a Railway possession period of 6 hrs on a Sunday morning.
Hastings Railway Regeneration

Hastings Railway regeneration - demolition of Parcel Bridge

As part of the Hastings Regeneration programme Marks (Demolition) Contractors Ltd were awarded the demolition contract for the Railway Station by Osborne Rail in partnership with Network Rail. The demolition works involved the demolition of the existing Parcel bridge and platform canopies. All works were carried out during a 24 hour railway possession period. Hastings Railway Regeneration

As part of the regeneration works at Hastings station, the demolition works also consisted of the removal of an existing link-bridge between the platforms and associated buildings to make way for the new station building. This work was carried out under T1 & T11 possessions during normal working hours, under restrictions placed by Network Rail. Overall contract value £315,000.
